Annual report to PFA May 2018

Report to PFA AGM – 14th May 2018

Loughborough Emmanuel moved into Division Two of the North Leicestershire Football League for the 2017-18 season following a near promotion from Division Three. Ultimately several teams in Division Two folded at the end of the last season allowing for our promotion.

We have had mixed results across the season with a solid group of players continuing from the 2016-17 season but also a number of students joining us. In the end we had around 50 players signed on although family and work commitments always have an impact on our players availability, so despite our numbers there were occasions where we played without subs.

We entered 3 cups this season; the County Cup, the National Christian Cup and an Inter-League Cup. Unfortunately we didn't repeat last seasons good run in the Christian Cup, getting knocked out in early rounds of al 3 cups.

We finished the season 9th out of 11 in the league.

We continue to have a good relationship with Burton FC with a number of our players, playing for both teams and the 2 teams continuing to train together. We have been immensely grateful for their support and also for the support of the PFA during more difficult times this season when Dan's dad was ill and later when Dan himself was in hospital. It was reassuring to know that even from a distance we could contact Pam and Peter to make sure our players and captain could access the changing rooms in our absence.

Loughborough Emmanuel Football Club report to PFA May 2017

The team have continued in the 3rd Division of the North Leicestershire Football League, finishing third at the end of an excellent 2016-17 season.

The team this season has been fairly consistent and gelled well together. Made up of players both from Emmanuel Church, Loughborough and from the wider community with a number of new players joining us from The Carpenters Arms this season. This consistency, and finding a playing formation that works for us, has led to a string of excellent results both in the league but also in the National Christian Trophy where we reached the semi-finals.

The team have a small group of members, including treasurer/ secretary, captain & vice-captain who support and assist Daniel Orme as manager in the running of the team.

This season we have appreciated the continued support of Brian Bunn who has been a regular supporter as well as liaising between Burton FC and Emmanuel FC as we have been training together. We are grateful too for the support of others who have come along to matches to watch us.

We have continued to appreciate the welcome, support and hospitality we have received from the PFA and other users.
