2019 12 03 Parish Council meeting PRESS RELEASE

PRESS RELEASE from the Parish Council meeting on 3rd December 2019

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Parish Council would like to wish you all a very happy New Year.

NOTICE OF A TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at Paudy Lane, Seagrave has resulted in a much higher volume of traffic, specifically HGVs, through Burton on the Wolds and Cotes. The Parish Council has been in contact with Leicestershire County Council (LCC) on several occasions to request that the diversion be re-routed as the roads through the villages and outlying rural areas are not suitable for this additional heavy traffic. Unfortunately the diversion remained in place causing huge damage to road surfaces, footpaths and grass verges. Please be assured that we are working with LCC to ensure that all damage is reported and rectified as soon as possible.

FLOODING & GULLIES UPDATE

There are several blocked gullies in the Parish causing flooding to our roads, the worst affected being Prestwold Lane in Prestwold and near to the junction of Cotes Road/Loughborough Road in Cotes. All blockages have been reported and remedial action has been scheduled by LCC.

POLICE REPORT

During the month of November 2019 there was 1 x Criminal Damage reported in Burton on the Wolds, Cotes had 1 x Burglary Dwelling attempt whereby 2 males were seen on CCTV to try to gain access to a property, Prestwold also had 1 x Burglary Dwelling whereby an outbuilding was entered and tools taken.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

The next Parish Council meeting will take place on Tuesday 14th January at 7.30 p.m. at the Village Hall, Burton on the Wolds. There is a 15 minute section at each Parish Council meeting where you are welcome to speak if you have any questions or comments.
